Jeff has more than 18 years of experience in planning, analyzing/designing, developing, selecting and implementing information systems for a variety of both public and private sector organizations. His background in IT includes extensive expertise in business and application process re-engineering, working with a variety of accounting, customer, maintenance management systems, geographic information systems, system integrations, data conversion and mobile field enablement.
Prior to starting Sophos Solutions, Jeff spent 9 years as a principal consultant at Westin Engineering focusing on water and wastewater utilities and municipalities where he held various positions including Northern California Consulting Manager. His experience includes large project management as well as hands-on implementation support. He has been responsible for the design and implementation of two Sacramento area utility information system upgrade projects covering ERP, CIS, CMMS, GIS and Mobile enablement. He has been involved in the selection of multiple ERP, Customer Information and Billing and maintenance management systems for numerous utilities and municipalities.
Prior to joining Westin, Jeff spent 7 years at San Jose Water Company where he was Director of IT. He was an integral part of the team responsible for the transformation of a mainframe legacy based IT environment to a client server environment. His direct experience related to replacing the Mainframe based Customer billing application, Legacy DOS based accounting system, telephone system including all call center applications (ACD and IVR) and implementing a new GIS. He also developed several line of business applications in VB including a backflow management application, unbilled revenue application, 401k management application and developer refund management application.
Prior to joining San Jose Water, Jeff spent 7 years at KPMG Peat Marwick where he progressed from accountant/CPA to IT consultant. As a CPA, Jeff is well versed in all aspects of accounting and ERP system functions and processes. While at KPMG his duties included audit supervision, computer audit support and local office technology management. Jeff’s strong interest in technology led him into the microcomputer based consulting practice when personal computers where first gaining traction as serious business computing platforms in the late 1980’s. This transition from accountant to consultant was completed when Jeff officially joined the consulting practice at KPMG. He managed both LAN/WAN and database development projects. Jeff achieved the level of manager before leaving KPMG to join San Jose Water.
Throughout his career, Jeff has used his background in business and accounting to assist clients in developing and reeingeering their financial management processes in most areas of the organization. Jeff has a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from San Jose State University. He is a registered CPA (inactive) in California and has held certifications as a Novel CNE (v3 & v4).
Craig has 10+ years of experience in project management, business analysis and system implementations, 8+ years in the water, wastewater and electric utilities.
His experience includes business process re-engineering, requirements gathering, project management, system integration, and data conversion. His latest projects include the implementation of 2 Oracle Work and Asset Management systems (CMMS/EAM), 3 ERP systems and 2 CIS systems since 2005.
He has also helped his clients define their CMMS and CIS requirements and prepare their RFPs to help them figure out what they needed and select the right software solution for them. His strength is bridging the business processes with information technology.
He has a wide range of business processing knowledge and technical skills. He has 15+ years of database experience on both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. He is also skilled in Transact SQL, PLSQL and Visual basic programming languages.
Prior to starting Sophos Solutions, LLC, Craig spent 2 years as a principal consultant at Westin Engineering focusing on water and wastewater utilities and municipalities. With Westin he broadened his expertise to implementing multiple ERP, CMMS and CIS systems. Before that he was with the City of Riverside California for 7 years primarily working with the Electric and Water departments.
At the City of Riverside he was responsible for implementing their asset management systems for 7 different departments with completely different and complex requirements. The EAM system included 12 cross platform interfaces for general ledger, purchase orders, requisition, invoicing, inventory, employees, and timekeeping, etc.
